BRBC Legislative Breakfast Forum - CT Housing Bill 8002

Tuesday, January 27, 2026 (7:30 AM - 10:00 AM) (EST)

Description

Join the Bridgeport Regional Business Council (BRBC) for a timely and informative Legislative Breakfast Forum, presented by AT&T, examining Connecticut Housing Bill 8002 and its implications for businesses, municipalities, and communities across our region.

Hosted in collaboration with the Monroe Chamber of Commerce, the Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, and the Southwest Connecticut Manufacturing Partnership, this forum will bring together business leaders, manufacturers, developers, municipal officials, and policymakers for a meaningful discussion on one of Connecticut’s most critical policy issues.

The program will feature a distinguished legislative panel actively engaged in housing policy, including:

  • State Representative Tony Scott (R–112th District), Ranking Member, Housing Committee
  • State Senator Herron Keyon Gaston (D–23rd District), Vice Chair, Housing Committee
  • State Representative Antonio Felipe (D–130th District), Chair, Housing Committee

The discussion will be moderated by Christopher Davis, Vice President of Policy at the Connecticut Business & Industry Association (CBIA), who will lead a thoughtful conversation on the intent, implementation, and real-world impacts of Housing Bill 8002.

Attendees will gain valuable insight into how the legislation may influence economic development, workforce availability, housing supply, manufacturing growth, and long-term regional competitiveness throughout Greater Bridgeport and Fairfield County.

In addition, the program will include the presentation of the 2025 Excellence in Public Service Award to Senate Majority Leader Bob Duff, presented by NuPower LLC, in recognition of his leadership and service to the State of Connecticut.

This Legislative Breakfast Forum is a must-attend event for business and civic leaders seeking clarity, perspective, and direct engagement on how housing policy will shape Connecticut’s economic future.

Start your morning with informed dialogue, meaningful connections, and actionable insights on one of the state’s most pressing challenges.
